“Sew” much fun!

Tuesday, Nellie took the reins as creative projects director and brought us a book called Sewing School and the kids all tried their hands at simple projects.  This was loads of fun, and everyone enjoyed themselves thinking of fun projects to make: a pin cushion, a felt-monster, a stuffed doll and a pocket were all tackled.  It was such a nice way to teach a skill and socialize with friends.

It was fun and simple.  I loved that the kids were given the resource of the library book to refer to for self-directed help and information on stitches, projects and more.  This gave them a lot of creative freedom, and they embraced that.

If you’re in the local area, don’t forget that you can join us at our Stay & Play group any Tuesday.  Drop in between 12:30 and 2:30 for games and activities.  See our About Us page for details.

Do you have a simple activity or craft to share with us?  Leave us a comment or a link  below!

Have an awesome weekend!

  1. The kids so enjoyed this activity. Meg really loved it and cannot wait to do more. Thanks Nellie for being a patient and easy teacher. She was very happy as were all the kids with their experience 🙂
