We visited the Matfield Maple Farm located at 107 Matfield St, West Bridgewater, MA 02379 with some friends and the kids last spring. The tour was $6 per person. There were some farm animals with coin-op feed machines for the kids (always a fun time) and some chickens wandering around. We took a short hike down to the wooded area where they showed us how the collect the sap from the maple trees (it’s clear, like water!) with tubes that run all over the property.
They answered all kinds of questions and had wonderful information about how climate change, seasons and other variables affect the maple sugaring business. Then we walked back to the sugar house where they boil the sap down to make maple syrup. We got a little cupfull to try, and of course, we had to buy some to take home. They also had eggs and other goods for sale.
I highly recommend this for your family or for a group field trip.
