What ages are the kids who attend?

This is a group for school aged children and their parents to have fun and make friends with other homeschoolers.  The age ranges of the kids who regularly attend are from Kindergarten to early teens.

Do I have to bring anything?

No, we provide all the games and art supplies, but if your child wants to bring something to share, you are more than welcome to bring it. Sometimes we may ask for a nominal contribution of a dollar or two if you want to help out.

What is STE(A)M?

STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math. We try to have a related activity each week before setting the kids loose to play games and socialize.

What kinds of games do you have?

There is a Pathfinder campaign for kids who want to participate.  We also have role-playing games like Small World and Munchkin, strategy games like Settlers of Catan and Stratego, card games like Fluxx and Uno, Geography/History games like Ticket to Ride and Timeline, dice games like Zombie Dice and Yahtzee, story-telling games like Dixit and Rory’s Story Cubes, traditional games like Chess, Monopoly, Clue, Sorry and Battleship … there is truly something for everyone.

Do I have to sign up?

No, you can drop in any time between 11:00 and 2:00, but if you want to be added to the email list, send us a message at outsidetheboxhomeschoolers@gmail.com

Do I have to be from Somerset?

No, we have families who join us from the surrounding areas.  All are welcome.

  1. Is anyone willing to talk to me regarding homeschooling curriculum my kids are ages 8,9,5. I am overwhelmed with choosing curriculum.
